1. Introduction
Anderson Consultants Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use Fayr, including the Fayr mobile application, the website at fayr.app, and related support services.
Fayr is a shared-journey application designed to help drivers and passengers organise shared car journeys, keep track of journey information, calculate how journey costs may be shared, and record whether amounts between participants have been settled.
This Privacy Policy should be read alongside Fayr's Terms of Use.
3. Information We Collect

Your preferred language, currency, and unit system
•
Whether you generally use Fayr as a driver, passenger, or both
Where you sign in using Apple or Google, we receive the information that provider makes available to Fayr in accordance with the permissions and choices associated with your account.
We do not receive your Apple or Google account password.
Journey Information
When you create, join, or take part in a shared journey, we may collect and store information such as:
•
The driver and passengers associated with the journey
•
Guest passengers added by a user
•
Journey start and end times
•
Join requests and their status
•
When a participant joined, boarded, left, requested to leave, or was removed
•
Journey distance and duration
•
Route or waypoint information generated during a journey
•
The vehicle and cost settings used for the journey
•
Currency and unit settings used for the journey
•
Cost calculations and participant cost shares
•
Journey receipts and summaries
•
Settlement status, such as whether a passenger has marked an amount as paid or a driver has confirmed receipt
We may also store an access token or other identifier used to allow passengers to join a particular journey using a QR code or manually entered code.
Location Information
If you are driving and start an active journey, Fayr may collect precise location information from your device where you have granted the required device permissions.
Location information may be collected while Fayr is running in the background during an active journey.
We use this information to:
•
Track the progress of an active journey
•
Measure distance travelled
•
Calculate journey information and cost estimates
•
Produce journey records and summaries
•
Support functionality associated with an active car pool
Fayr is designed to use this location tracking in connection with an active journey. We do not use your precise journey location for advertising.
Depending on the journey and app functionality, route points or derived journey information may form part of the stored journey record.
You can control location permissions through your device settings. Restricting location permissions may prevent some driver journey-tracking features from working correctly.
Vehicle and Journey-Cost Information
If you add or configure a vehicle, we may collect:
•
Whether the vehicle is active or selected
•
Journey-cost settings associated with the vehicle
•
Whether a cost is based on a Fayr estimate, default value, or a custom value entered by you
Fayr may use this information to calculate an estimated cost per unit of distance.
These calculations are estimates and are not intended to represent an exact measurement of the real operating cost of a vehicle.
Cost and Settlement Information
Fayr calculates and records information about how journey costs may be divided between participants.
•
Total calculated journey cost
•
The amount attributed to each participant
•
Distance attributed to a participant
•
The calculation or rate used
•
Whether an amount has been marked as paid
•
Whether a driver has confirmed receipt
•
Other settlement-related statuses
Passengers generally settle amounts with drivers outside Fayr.
Fayr does not process or transfer those passenger-to-driver payments and does not need to receive the bank account or payment-card details used by participants to settle with one another.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to a paid Fayr plan, such as Fayr Plus, we may receive and store information about your subscription, including:
•
The store through which the subscription was purchased
•
Whether the subscription is active
•
Subscription start and renewal periods
•
Whether the subscription is expected to renew
•
Subscription expiry or cancellation information
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google.
We do not receive your full payment-card details for these purchases.
We use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status and determine which Fayr features your account is entitled to use.

If you enable notifications, we may process:
•
Your notification preferences
•
A device or push-notification identifier
•
Information necessary to determine whether a relevant notification should be sent
Notifications may relate to shared journeys, join requests, participant activity, journey status, or other Fayr functionality.
You can control notification permissions through Fayr and your device settings.

We may use this information to maintain Fayr, investigate faults, and protect the service and its users from misuse.

The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information and why we hold it.
